Viñalba unveils new flagship
Argentina producer Viñalba has added a new flagship wine to its range, a Malbec blend called Diane.
Hervé and Diane Fabre
Named in tribute to the wife of winemaker Hervé Joyaux-Fabre, Diane is a blend of 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot from massal-selected vineyards with an average age of 60 years old.
Viñalba represents a joint venture established in 2008 between Mendoza-based Bodegas Fabre and UK importer Buckingham Schenk.
Describing Diane as “a stunning wine”, Buckingham Schenk managing director Jon Pepper remarked: “It’s a perfect flagship for Viñalba as it represents Hervé’s belief in the quality that Malbec blends can deliver.”
The 2010 vintage of Diane is now available in the UK with an RRP of £30 through Majestic Wine, which already lists six other expressions from the Viñalba portfolio.
