Old Scotch and Bordeaux at Bonhams auction
Rare Scotch and Cognac will take pride of place alongside the fine wines at Bonhams next Hong Kong auction.
1988 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, 1982 Pétrus and 1995 first growths will be much in evidence but Bonhams is flagging up its almost total monopoly among the auction houses on fine spirits.
The house said it expects “spirited bidding” for the likes of 1946 Macallan from the “Masters of Photography series by Albert Watson” (of which only 36 bottles exist); a vertical of Macallan from 1954 to 1986 and the Royal Marriage editions made for the weddings of Prince Charles and Prince William.
Aside from Macallan there is a 1938 Generation-Mortlach and a collection of rare Japanese whiskies from the Karuizawa and Hanyu distilleries.
Particularly impressive Cognacs include Rémy Martin Fine Chamapgne from 1900 and 1906 and a bottle of Louis XIII Black Pearl.

The auction will take place at the Island Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong on 23 May.
