Beer celebrations for Bayern Munich
Germany’s football champions Bayern Munich have celebrated their Bundesliga success with traditional on-field beer drenchings.
After Bayern lifted the trophy for winning the German football league the players celebrated with giant steins of Paulaner beer, which they promptly poured over each other.
While many teams across Europe celebrated success with Champagne this weekend, the German champions stuck to the traditional German beverage of beer.
The players enjoyed fun times chasing each other around the Allianz Stadium in Munich, with the giant glasses full of beer.
Outgoing Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes was a popular target for the players, who will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on Saturday 25 May. Heineken are one of the major sponsors of that tournament, so it remains to be seen which drink the winners will use to celebrate on that night.
