ABS picks London City Bond
Wine importer Awin Barratt Siegel has selected London City Bond to handle its distribution after an “extensive” review of its supply chain.
ABS will now have access to LCB’s 272,000 square foot warehouse in Barking (pictured), which has “exceptional” access to London’s Square Mile and West End.
ABS’s David Wright said: “It gives great peace of mind to be somewhere where wine and all its logistical complications are understood so we are very pleased to be with specialists and share space with valued competitors – it just makes life so much better for our customers.
“The efficiencies of LCB in regard to stock control, systems management and attention to detail are greatly appreciated.”
Similar delight was echoed by LCB’s operations director, Neil Cowey, who added: “I believe that our undivided focus on the wine merchant and agency house has resulted in a deep understanding of their business and requirements.
“In our business it is often not recognised that size really does matter, it gives us the critical mass to offer a national delivery service in our own vehicles second to none. It also gives us the ability to sustain the expensive business of continual systems development and innovation.”
