South West France Wines reveals final selection for UK campaign
South West France Wines has announced an “impressive” final selection of 93 wines to be promoted as part of its newly launched UK campaign, writes Chris Cox.
Chosen by The Wine Gang after four days spent tasting more than 200 wines for the Interprofession des Vins du Sud Ouest (IVSO), the selection represents wines from 13 of the region’s 16 different denominations, including Gaillac, Cahors, Fronton and Saint-Mont.
The Wine Gang member Tom Cannavan paid tribute to the range and quality at the tasting and was pleased to see the continuing development of wines in the region.
“Once again, the tasting this year was impressive. Having enjoyed and been greatly stimulated by the 2013 tasting, we are very happy with the wines we have selected and look forward to the response from both trade and consumers when they taste them,” he said. “We are really pleased with improvements we can see in many categories of wine and sub-regions each year.”
All 93 wines will be available to try in London at the Masion des Vins du Sud-Ouest at Comptoir Gascon, London as well as at sister establishment Cellar Gascon.
