Henriot switches UK agent
Champagne Henriot has announced a change in its UK distributor from Enotria to John E Fells.
Effective from 1 May 2013, the move will see the Champagne house join the same UK stable as the rest of the Henriot family’s wine estate portfolio, which includes Beaune-based Bouchard Père & Fils, William Fèvre in Chablis and Fleurie property Villa Ponciago.
The switch also gives Fells its first Champagne agency. By contrast, Henriot currently sits on the Enotria list alongside Champagne Jacquart, which joined the distributor in 2010.
Describing Henriot’s departure as “an amicable parting of the ways,” Enotria’s managing director Alison Levett, said: ‘”We are sorry that Champagne Henriot is moving on but understand the strategic rationale.”
Meanwhile Fells’ managing director Steve Moody, welcomed the house, saying: “We are delighted that Fells will shortly resume responsibility for the sales and marketing of Champagne Henriot here in the UK. Fells will continue with the good work undertaken by Enotria as we further develop Champagne Henriot’s position.”
