Jay-Z’s £250,000 NYE bar bill

US rapper Jay-Z is reported to have paid a £250,000 bar bill while partying with friends on New Year’s eve.

The hip-hop star shouted the night out for his friends at a Coldplay concert in New York on Monday night.

The concert took place at the Barclays Centre, which is home to the Brooklyn Nets basketball team, which Jay-Z part owns.

According to The Sun, Jay-Z hired a private lounge, known as “The Vault”, for the concert. The room was decorated especially for the concert and featured one wall covered with bottles of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne. The Champagne, which costs around £300 a bottle, has featured in other expensive round in the UK, including a £120,000 night out in London and what is thought to be the UK’s biggest bar bill.

The rapper is also reported to have had a 30-litre Midas bottle of Armand de Brignac delivered to the party, which needed two men to carry it.

At one point Jay-Z joined Coldplay on stage during the concert, which was also attended by Cheryl Cole. Although an expensive night out, the bill falls short of the US$3 million that Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio recently spent on Champagne for his birthday celebrations.

you mean that the fact that he has shares in the ACE brand is a “Huge Deal”???? I don’t doubt it. http://www.complex.com/music/2011/03/jay-z-ace-of-spades

Even if I did have the success and financial status, I wouldn’t shower my friends and family in Champagne, I would leave that to the numpties in the nightclubs…..having said that, it may be better than drinking it
