Cantona stars in new Kronenbourg ad
Heineken has unveiled a new Kronenbourg advert starring former footballer Eric Cantona.
Shot in Alsace, the advert shows Cantona failing to be recognised by the locals who revere the hop farmers instead.
Cantona sits alone watching the farmers being hounded by the paparazzi and beautiful women leading him to muse, “the hop farmers are treated like the footballers of Britain.”
The tongue-in-cheek ad is part of Kronenbourg’s multi-million pounnd “A Taste Suprême” campaign and will be aired on Monday 4 February.
Heineken’s managing director on-trade, Lawson Mountstevens, said: “Our new ‘A Taste Suprême’ TV campaign is a humorous homage to the farmers in Alsace who nurture the highly-prized Strisselspalt hops that give Kronenbourg 1664 its taste and aroma.”
The campaign started in September last year with an outdoor and print campaign. Some other shots from the advert can be found on the following pages.
