Pubs flooded around the country

Heavy rain and flooding has hit large parts of the UK, with hundreds of flood warnings still in place and many local pubs already hit.

The Kings Arms in York sits by the River Ouse and is famous for being regularly flooded. As this picture, which was posted on Twitter by @RichbCam, shows, this year is no different.

The Old Mill Inn at Polperro in Cornwall is also flooded, with owner Jan Perry worried that the pub will not be fixed in time for Christmas. This picture was posted on Twitter by @LeoHickman.

The Lowther in York is just round the corner from the Kings Arms, so it is no great surprise to see this photograph from @GavAitchison, which shows the pub trying to pump out the flood waters.

The Plough in St Asaph is another pub that has been hit with flooding this week, and thanks to @discuit for posting this photograph.

Flood defences at the Mill on Exe in Exeter did help to reduce a lot of the force of the flood water, but landlord Janice Thomas told the Morning Advertiser that the pub still saw two-feet of water and she has lost £7,000 so far because of the flooding.
