Ideal wine home for sale in McLaren Vale

A wine-lover’s dream home complete with a wine-tasting room and views of hundreds of acres of vines is for sale in McLaren Vale.

Not surprisingly the home also contains a cellar, although it is not clear whether any of the cellar’s current contents will be included in the sale.

The property is being sold by a couple of local vignerons, who are selling in order to move closer to a vineyard that they own in another part of McLaren Vale.

Mr Stillwell, who is selling the property, told his local newspaper the Herald Sun: “We put in some Champagne racks and we use them to hold our wine.

“We use it ourselves but when we have friends over we sit down and have a drink in there. We’ve got a special table we use and have seats around it.”

As well as the wine-tasting room and cellar the four-bedroom house also offers panoramic views across hectares of vines in the Willunga Hills. The area has a Mediterranean-like climate and is known mainly for its red wines and in particular its Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

And what price for this little piece of wine-loving luxury on the other side of the world? It is currently being advertised for between £570,000 and £605,000 and there is a viewing this Saturday between 3pm and 3.30pm if you are interested.
