Moueix offers ex-cellar Trotanoy at HDH auction
Two hundred and fifty bottles of Château Trotanoy will be the main focus of Hart Davis Hart’s auction at the end of this month.
The collection has been offered by Christian Moueix, owner and winemaker at Trotanoy and includes 108 magnums, 16 double magnums, 12 imperials and three Jeroboams.
Of particular note are a full case of 1966, three double magnums of 1982 and two imperials of 2005.
The rest of the auction, which is taking place at Tru’s restaurant in Chicago on 27 October, includes other top lots of Bordeaux and Burgundy in a sale expected to realise US$2.3-$3.4 million.
A statement from the house declared that “Domaine de la Romanée-Conti collectors will not be disappointed,” nor those of Pétrus, as the sale will include imperials of from 1985, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2006, while there are 13 vintages of DRC from 2009 to 1966 for buyers to snap up.
Other Burgundian offerings include wines from Leroy, Leflaive, Lafon, de Vogüé and Etienne Sauzet.
