Somerset wine shop coming soon
A Somerset wine tasting events company is expanding its focus to open a shop for its local client base next month.
Kelli Gould of The Wine Tasting Co. gets some hands on experience
The Wine Tasting Co. shop is due to open on the High Street in Winscombe, Somerset, on 5 October.
Established two years ago by Kelli Gould, The Wine Tasting Co. runs tastings for both private and corporate groups across the south west of England. While these off-site events will continue, the new shop will offer an additional base for the firm’s tastings and WSET-accredited wine courses.
“Opening a shop is something that I’ve always wanted to do and it feels a natural progression of what the company is doing already,” explained Gould.
Promising a range of wines from around the world, Gould noted that there would also be a strong local feel to the shop, which will stock products from The Somerset Brandy Company, Cheddar Ales and Oatley Vineyard.
In addition to drink, the shop will feature a selection of complementary food in the form of cheese from nearby supplier Times Past and chocolates from Maison Loulou.
Emphasising a focus on “small independent importers,” Gould outlined her mission, saying: “I used to be a 3 for £10 girl and just with a bit of information its amazing how much more you can enjoy wine and that’s what I want to pass to my customers.”
