Instagram fuelled Facebook cover for JW
Johnnie Walker has revealed plans to transform its Facebook timeline cover photo into an ever-changing Instagram gallery.

A new app has been created by Johnnie Walker on its global Facebook page which allows fans to contribute their Instagram images to the cover photo, potentially showing them to over four million fans.
To launch the app, the Scotch brand has commissioned top Instagram using photographers to take over the Johnnie Walker Instagram feed and co-curate its Facebook Timeline cover photo.
Over the next four weeks the three curators will be taken on four different “brand related journeys”, with exclusive “behind-the-scenes” glimpses into the whisky brand’s world.
Following this, Johnnie Walker fans will be invited to capture Instagram images inspired by the Scotch, with the most striking pictures streamlined to the brand’s Facebook cover photo from late September to form part of an ever-changing gallery of images.
News of the whisky brand’s decision to launch an Instagram account comes just days after the photo-sharing site was said to be flooded with sexually explicit images, causing it to be dubbed “instaporn”.
