Hong Kong F&B expo busiest ever
The tenth edition of Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong opened yesterday at the city-centre Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

“It was a good first day,” said Stuart Bailey, managing director of organiser Diversified Events Hong Kong.
“As far as I was concerned it was the busiest day we’ve ever had. There were all trade visitors and you could tell there was a lot of business being done [in the exhibition hall].”
The expo, which has increased in popularity year on year, celebrated its first decade with an opening-night gala dinner, a fitting tribute to one of Hong Kong’s longest running F&B expos.
Sideshows also add to the “fun” of the event. “The Escoffier [chef demonstrations], cocktail and barista demos make the expo more interesting,” said Jason Lo, managing director of restaurant supplier Waves Pacific and a first-day attendee.
The expo features suppliers of some of Hong Kong’s – and the region’s – best produce, table and glassware and this year 247 exhibitors are in attendance.
Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong 2012 takes place alongside two complementary expos, the Asian Seafood Exposition and Frozen Food Asia.
The event is a key diary entry for the owners and F&B directors of the city’s most prominent restaurants, hotels, clubs, bars, cafes as well as executive chefs, sommeliers and wine buyers.
Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong runs until Thursday 13th September.
