BenRiach latest bottling in Cask Strength “A-Z” range
The BenRiach distillery and Cask Strength’s Neil Ridley and Joel Harrison have partnered to release a limited edition 16 year-old single malt.
The whisky was ditilled in 1996 and aged for 16 years four of which were spent in Pedro Ximenez casks. It was bottled at cask strength (55.2%) and comes from cask #5614.
The release is the latest in Cask Strength’s “A-Z” bottlings, which began with the Arran Single Malt. Only 296 bottles will be available, all sold through Master of Malt. Each bottle will be numbered and being hand signed by Ridley and Harrison with the first 50 sold with a “Cask Strength and Carry On” labelled cotton carrier bag.
The Arran bottling, also sold through Master of Malt, went in only a few days and since its release has tripled in price.
This will likely happen with the BenRiach as well and is part of an ever increasing trend towards rare single malts fetching ever higher prices as collectors and even investors seek them out.
What the next bottling in the range will be has not been revealed.
