Pub membership scheme takes off in Dublin
A historic pub in Dublin has used a pub membership scheme to re-invent themselves.
The Bachelor Inn, which is just off O’Connell street in the city, has pioneered a pub membership scheme which gives food and drink discounts to members.
Members of the pub can avail of a complimentary meal every week, while other benefits of the membership includes daily food specials and €3 pints (Sunday to Thursday).
The card costs €20 and membership can be requested online.
“The idea was to give something back to the consumer, reward their loyalty,” explained David Fitzpatrick of the Bachelor Inn pub and its sister pub The Lotts Café Bar, Liffey Street.
‘It has been going well and our tourist membership is a great option. It has seen an increased footfall and increased customers returning to get the full benefit from the card. It could be the way of the future.”
The tourist option involves becoming a member for a €20 deposit, which is refundable on the day you leave Ireland. Tourist membership benefits include some food discounts as well as all pints and longnecks €4.00 all week.
