Bloodshot agrees distributor partnership

Bloodshot Bloody Vodka Spirit has agreed a partnership with distributor Hi-Spirits.

Hi-Spirits will distribute Bloodshot in the UK on-trade and off-trade alongside its existing brand portfolio, which includes Antica Sambuca, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Sebor Absinth and Fireball cinnamon liqueur.

Bloodshot goes on-shelf in 150 Waitrose stores on July 30.

Bloodshot is a premium, artisan blend of grain spirit produced from British wheat, combined with botanicals including chipotle, tabasco and cayenne peppers, coriander and  celery seed, horseradish and lemon peel. Other ingredients include Worcestershire sauce, oak-aged ruby port, mild chilli juice, lime bitters, and lemon extract.

Launched in February this year, Bloodshot is a 29.9 per cent ABV spirit.

The Bloodshot recipe is the result of product development by Bloody Mary enthusiast Mark Douglas Hill, whose company Little Devil Spices produces the brand in West Sussex.

Hill said: “I set out to develop Bloodshot primarily because I wanted to enjoy the best possible Bloody Mary myself. The response, including our new listing with Waitrose, shows that many other people share my enthusiasm, and Hi-Spirits proven expertise in bringing new brands to market will be invaluable to Bloodshot’s continued growth.”

Jeremy Hill, chairman of Hi-Spirits, said: “The UK spirit market is driven by innovation and quality, and Bloodshot is a premium twist on a classic serve. We’re delighted to be working with Mark and the team at Little Devil Spices to ensure that cocktail enthusiasts can enjoy the ultimate Bloody Mary.”

Bloodshot Bloody Vodka Spirit is supplied in a 50cl bottle with an RSP of £19.99.

As well as Waitrose, Bloodshot is sold in Selfridges, Gerry’s Wines and Spirits in Soho, and wine merchants Lea & Sandeman. On-trade wholesalers include Coe Vintners and Venus Wine & Spirits.
