Asda adds English wines in time for Jubilee
Asda has added two English wines to its range for the first time in several years.
The Three Choirs Regalia 2011 and Chapel Down Vintage Reserve Brut will both be available in stores specifically around the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Three Choirs Regalia will be £6.00 from 29th May to 23rd of June, while Chapel Down Vintage Reserve Brut will be £15 from 29th May to 23rd June.
Three Choirs Regalia 2011 has been produced exclusively for the supermarket by Three Choirs vineyard in Gloucestershire and is the result of a close collaboration between the Three Choirs winemaker, Martin Fowke, Asda wine selector Katie Thompson and Asda’s head of wine Philippa Carr MW.
The Three Choirs wine is made from a blend of Madeleine Angevine, Phoenix, Schonberger, Siegerrebe and Seyval Blanc grapes, all grown in Three Choirs’ 75 acre vineyard in the Gloucestershire countryside.
Three Choirs is one of England’s leading single estate vineyards and winner of the English Wine Producers’ winemaker of the year in 2008.
To further bolster its English wine selection around the Jubilee, Asda is also adding Chapel Down Vintage Reserve Brut to its range for a limited period.
Asda’s wine selector, Katie Thompson, said: “We are delighted to be working with Three Choirs vineyard as this lovely English wine offers our customers something new and exciting to try. With such a focus on all things British this year, we can’t wait to join in all the celebrations with a glass of Chapel Down Vintage Reserve Brut and a sip or two of our exclusive Three Choirs Regalia.”
