Warm weather drives sparkling sales
Sales of summer drinks such as Champagne, Prosecco and Cava are up as unseasonal temperatures warm-up the UK.
Oddbins has reported that Prosecco sales have risen by 28% while Cava sales have jumped by 20%, compared with three weeks ago.
Champagne sales were up 8% while cider sales rose by a 48%.
Emma Nichols, head of buying at Oddbins, said: “With this unexpected ray of sunshine, a lot of people are using the opportunity to have picnics and barbeques with sparkling wines being their preferred drink.”
