Two new restaurants for Harrods

Harrods has announced plans for two new restaurants to open this spring with the Galvin brothers and Richard Corrigan.

The Galvin brothers, Chris and Jeff, will open their fifth London outlet, Demoiselle, in March in the mezzanine once occupied by the Espresso Café above the fruit and vegetable food hall.

Seating up to 60 diners, the restaurant will be overseen by Chris Galvin’s wife Sarah and the head chef will be appointed from one of the brother’s existing restaurants.

The menu will focus on French cuisine, based around lighter dishes such as the new baked lobster fishcake but also featuring more classic dishes such as pork cheek and tarte tatin.

In May, Corrigan will open a new outlet of Bentley’s in the meat and fish hall where the current Sea Grill restaurant is situated.

The venue will feature a crustacean bar as well as seafood cocktails and pies.

Harrods’ restaurant director, Paul Goodale, said that the openings were building on the success of 2011 and “signal our long-term plans to build partnerships with the industry’s most respected chefs and to further strengthen our portfolio of 28 restaurants.”
