AWC gains WSET accreditation
The Antique Wine Company has seen its educational arm, the AWC Wine Academy, win accreditation from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
The company launched its educational programme last year, offering tastings, courses and private events at a purpose built facility in Marylebone, central London. It has now been authorised to offer WSET courses up to the Level Three Advanced certificate.
Offering some insight into the Academy’s educational approach, Stephen Williams, managing director of The Antique Wine Company and founder of the AWC Wine Academy, emphasised: “While our courses will be informative and educational, as well as accredited, they will continue to be interactive, enjoyable and non-intimidating.
“We see this accreditation as a vehicle to offer outstanding training in an area in which we are well informed and knowledgeable and therefore wish to impart this knowledge and experience to other people: members of the public, the hospitality trade and our own staff members.”
