Innis & Gunn doubles workforce
Scottish brewer Innis & Gunn is to double its workforce as sales rise.
Despite gloomy forecasts for the job market in the private sector, the independent brewer is advertising for 13 new posts.
The recruitment was driven by a 68% jump in turnover year-on-year to the end of Q3, the result of a large investment programme in 2010 according to a statement.
Dougal Sharp, managing director of Innis & Gunn, said: “The focus last year was on creating the right systems infrastructure to cope with the increased demand for our products.
“Now that they are in place and we are seeing the fruits of our labours, the time has come to recruit the right people to continue driving forward the growth at the incredible rates we have experienced to date.”
The brewery has appointed the Edinburgh-based Search consultancy to fill the posts, all of which the brewery intends to fill within six months of January 2012.
Twelve of the new employees will be based in Edinburgh while the last post will be for a field sales executive to support the brand ambassador in Canada where Innis & Gunn is the best-selling British bottled beer.
