Symington Ports world’s “most awarded”

Symington Family Estates has declared itself the most awarded Port company in the world.

Following this year’s medal announcements by the International Wine Challenge and Decanter World Wine Awards, Symington family-owned Ports outperformed others by a substantial margin.

At the IWC, the company’s Ports won 73% of all gold medals (8 out of 11) and 25% of all silvers (12 out of 48).

At Decanter its Ports won 57% of the golds (8 out of 14) and 40% of the silvers (21 out of 53).

Paul Symington, joint managing director of Symington Family Estates said, “The UK wine competitions are the largest in the world, and they are led by some of the most influential and experienced wine experts.

“This is a great result for our vineyard and wine-making teams and is a direct result of all the work that we do at our quintas throughout the year.”
