Michelin star for The Yeatman
The Yeatman Hotel has become one of just 12 Portuguese restaurants to hold a Michelin star.
The hotel was opened in August 2010 by The Fladgate Partnership, which owns Port houses Taylor’s, Fonseca and Croft.
Chef Ricardo Costa brought with him Michelin-starred expertise from his time at Casa do Calçada in Amarante. His focus at The Yeatman has been to apply a “contemporary twist” to traditional Portuguese cuisine.
Expressing his delight at the recognition, Adrian Bridge, CEO of The Fladgate Partnership, commented: “The Yeatman has always been an ambitious project to create a new level of experience for people who wish to visit Porto and Northern Portugal.
“The quality of food, paired with the best wine list in Portugal provides our guests and visitors with the greatest possible culinary experience that our town has to offer.”
This is the first Michelin star for Porto, despite its status as Portugal’s second city.
