Hennessy gears up for record sponsorship deal
Hennessy is marking its sponsorship of the 55th Hennessy Gold Cup with the launch of its Winter Tea Cocktail.
Taking place this Saturday, 26 November, at Newbury racecourse, the Hennessy Gold Cup represents the UK’s longest commercial racing sponsorship and is one of the highlights of the jump racing season.
This year’s event will see the Cognac brand host the Hennessy Winter Tea Garden, where racegoers will be able to sample the new cocktail. This sees Hennessy Fine de Cognac served hot in a blend with Earl Grey tea leaves, syrup, lemon juice, bitters, black cherry jam, star anise and orange peel.
According to Hennessy’s master blender, Yann Fillioux, “This experiment brings out the delicate character of the Fine de Cognac, whilst the tea’s woody aromas and hint of spice enhance its mellowness. The key to this marriage is subtley.”
After the event this weekend, the Hennessy Winter Tea Cocktail will be available on request from 28 November at the Nightjar in Shoreditch, London.
Won last year by Diamond Harry, this year’s current favourite is Aiteen Thirtythree, from the stables of Champion National Hunt trainer Paul Nicholls. However, many will also be watching trainer David Pipe’s horse, Great Endeavour, which won the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham in style two weeks ago.
Lucky racegoers! A Hennessy tea cocktail sounds yummy! More about Hennessy and other cognacs can be found here –
