Film celebrates Chapoutier’s work
A new film released this week pays tribute to the work of Michel Chapoutier in his vineyards.
“Fac & Spera” by Florent and Remy Gaillard was released yesterday (19 October) and aims to reveal “a man of many facets”.
The film concentrates on Chapoutier’s commitment to biodynamic practices and “capturing” the terroirs in his vineyards in the Rhône, Alsace, Roussillon and Australia.
The filmmakers said that understanding why Chapoutier works the way he does was not possible without also knowing more about Chapoutier himself.
Therefore, the film also looks at the Chapoutier family through the ages and how their love of food has influenced their winemaking styles.
Chapoutier says in the film: “We have more and more winemakers who make wine but who are not food lovers. As such there are more wines out there which are completely incompatible with food.”
The trailer can be watched on Chapoutier’s website.
