IWSC HK shares samples with students
The IWSC Hong Kong is inviting students to taste and assess remaining samples from this year’s judging process.
The new initiative called “Test your palate” will take place on 12-14 October from 6-9pm at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wanchai.
“With five judges per bottle we found that we had some wine left over so we decided to sell very reasonably priced tickets for students and professionals to come in and taste the wines,” said Debra Meiburg MW, director of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition (HKIWSC).
“There are a lot of promotional tastings in Hong Kong but not many where you can try wines side by side, for example, 40 Sauvignon Blancs from around the world,” she added.
She also said there would be games and challenges for the tasters, as well as the chance to vote for what they believe should be the medal winners.
“It’s a unique learning experience,” she summed up.
