WineFuture secures CNN advertising slot

A commercial for November’s WineFuture conference in Hong Kong will be shown on CNN from 1 September.

The 20 second film will be aired in all markets except the US due to the high cost of advertising in the country, according to Pancho Campo MW, organiser of WineFuture HK 2011.

The commercial, which can be viewed here, describes WineFuture as “the most important summit of the wine industry”.

Speaking to the drinks business this week, Campo said that the event would cover “three major topics: the first is the economy, the second is the loss of consumers – especially in traditional wine consuming countries like Spain and France – and the third is communicating with potential new consumers, how to get the millennials excited about wine.”

Speakers at the event, which takes place on 6-8 November, include Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson MW, and, as previously reported by db, Francis Ford Coppola.

Referring to Coppola, director of the Godfather trilogy, Campo said he was extremely pleased the film director and winemaker accepted the invitation to speak at WineFuture, because he believes it will bring the event and the wine trade “more attention from the mainstream media.”
