iPad rules at The Rib Room relaunch
The iPad wine list will strengthen its grip on London with the reopening of The Rib Room Bar & Resturant in Knightsbridge this October.
Fifty years after it first opened, the venue will be relaunched within the five star Jumeirah Hotel following a thorough refurbishment.
The revamp, which began at the beginning of July, has seen the addition of a cocktail bar and two private dining rooms, one with its own private cigar terrace.
The restaurant’s seasonal British menu will be overseen by newly-recruited head chef Ian Rudge, formerly of the Michelin-starred Northcote Manor in Lancashire.
The menu promises a “contemporary approach” to signature dishes such as Aberdeen Angus rib of beef from the Buccleuch estate.
Sommelier Louise Gordon will guide guests through the iPad wine list, which allows searches by price, region, country, grape and style, together with the option to link through to more detailed information about the wine and vintage.
Describing the relaunch as “an incredibly exciting prospect,” Michele Caggianese, restaurant and bar manager at The Rib Room, remarked: “With 50 years of exceptional fine dining and world-class service in our wake, we are committed to showing our guests why we deserve our place in gastronomic history.”
I am a fan myself and thought The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant was most definitely about the best of all things British: http://dasteepsspeaks.blogspot.com/2011/11/best-of-british.html
