TFWA hotting up
Pre-registration numbers for this year’s TFWA World Exhibition are running ahead of last year at the same stage.
The show opens on Monday 19 September in the Palais des Festivals, Cannes.
Always a hectic week for upwards of 5,400 delegates and 440 or so exhibiting companies, this year’s event will, as always, offer all participants the opportunity to network in convivial surroundings.
The Opening Cocktail at Palm Beach in Cannes on Sunday 18 September will be an ideal opportunity for delegates to meet colleagues and finalise plans for the week ahead.
Early risers will have started their show earlier that day with some leisure activities including the annual Gebr. Heinemann/Estée Lauder Travel Value Golf Tournament at the Mandelieu Golf Club, jogging or hiking on the Ile St Marguerite sponsored by Eastpak, or a friendly game of pétanque on the place de l’Etang sponsored by Kipling.
New this year are the beach volleyball tournament on the plage de Macé in Cannes, sponsored by Jack Russell Malletier, and two cultural activities: a perfume masterclass in the historic town of Grasse and a unique wine tasting experience at l’Abbaye de Lerins on the Ile St Honorat, guided by the monks who have been making wine there for 500 years.
With four working days behind them, the social highlight for many delegates will be Le Premium Evening on Thursday 22 September.
Singer-songwriter James Blunt will be the star attraction at an exclusive black-tie dinner concert in the Palm Beach.
This year The Scene, TFWA’s popular private nightclub on the Riviera Beach, celebrates its 10th anniversary with special festivities.
Delegates seeking fun and relaxation after business hours will dance, socialise and network in the venue from 10pm through to 2am on Monday 19 through to Thursday 22 September.
Pre-registration for The Scene will open shortly at http://thescene.creativespirit.eu and passes can also be purchased on-site.
Invitations to the Opening Cocktail and Le Premium Evening are part of the TFWA World Exhibition full delegate package for those who pre-register now.
To register for the golf, contenders should contact r_luebbers@gebr-heinemann.de. Players of all abilities are welcome to participate in the other leisure activities and they are invited to register with m.abdennbi@tfwa.com now as places are limited.
