Jukes takes Australia’s best on UK tour
Matthew Jukes is embarking on the second year of his 100 Best Australian Wines consumer road show.
Last year’s inaugural programme saw more than 450 consumers attend tastings organised by eight independent merchants and led by Jukes (left), an Australian wine specialist.
Explaining the initiative, which is also being supported by Wine Australia, Jukes said: “I have been compiling the 100 Best Australian Wines list for the trade for the last eight years and it was time to take the list direct to the consumer.
“By working with independent wine merchants across the country, we can target those with a passion for wine and a desire to learn more.â€
The series kicks off with a tasting at the Tate Britain gallery in London on 28 September, before heading around the UK. Among the independent merchants already signed up are:
Hanging Ditch, Manchester
SH Jones, Midlands
House of Menzies, Edinburgh
Selfridges, Birmingham
Vagabond Wines, London
Noel Young Wines, Cambridge
Great Western Wines, Bath
