db launches new fine wine report

This month’s soon-to-be released edition of the drinks business contains a new in-depth report on the world’s leading fine wines called En Primeur, which, to coincide with Vinexpo, is focused on Bordeaux.

As already reported by the drinks business, prices from the major chåteaux for the 2010 vintage have, for the most part, not been released, but the special section in June’s issue considers whether there is sense in investing in another youthful and expensive vintage, and brings fresh analysis of the price performance of recent, similarly celebrated harvests.

We also look back to ‘61 Bordeaux in its 50th anniversary year and consider whether prices for this iconic vintage have peaked, as well as bringing you the highlights and tasting notes from recent auctions.

Elsewhere we analyse the results of the annual Liv-ex en primeur survey which covers the views of its high-profile trade members, and we look in detail at the results of the major auction houses over the last 12 months.

The fine wine report also considers the trends within the Margaux appellation in terms of style, vintage variation and, of course, price movement; we bring you the latest developments in bonded warehousing, and take a look at the rise and fall – as well as future – of the garagistes: have these once rebellious winemakers become part of the Bordeaux establishment?
