Toms Terrace returns
This week sees the return of Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens’ Somerset House al fresco venue, Tom’s Terrace.
Presenting itself as “one of the best chill out destinations in the city”, the central London site will offer views across the river Thames as it serves up sharing platters and cocktails against the backdrop of nightime DJ sets.
Aikens’ menu features themed platters, including “Farm”, “Sea” and “Field”, together with a selection of puddings and party menus for larger groups. Among the house speciality cocktails are the Elderflower Collins and the Red Chilli Martini.
Explaining the project, which saw its inaugural season last summer, Aikens said: “Somerset House is one of London’s prettiest locations with the Thames just opposite Tom’s Terrace. It’s a great destination any time of the day. I’ve tried to create easy, fun menus that suit warm weather dining with some great cocktails to match."
Tom’s Terrace is open daily from midday until late (7pm on Sunday evenings), closing its doors on 25 September.
