Krombacher joins the dark side
German brand Krombacher, the biggest-selling beer in its homeland, has announced that it is to offer British pubs a dark version of its lager – Krombacher Dark.
Dark lagers are one of the fastest growing sectors in the beer market, albeit still recording modest volumes, according to Julian Penny, Krombacher’s UK representative.
“With the increasing interest in dark beers we think that this is a natural progression for the Krombacher range to introduce an authentic, dark, German beer that is packed full of flavour at a very drinkable 4.2% abv," he said.

Hi, on thursday 14th of July, my wife and I took my mother in law, to the Krombacher restaurant at Tower Hill, London, as a treat, she is German! A great time was had, I’d recommend it. But my point in for this message is Whilst there I had a Krombacher DARK, what a Beer, astounding, I’m a real ale man, even once a member of Camera. I have since been trying to find a retail outlet for this wonderful Beer, too good to be called Larger, near me, I live in Feltham TW13, but to no avail. I’d love to see Aldi stock it…
