Goose Island sold to AB-InBev
One of America’s most well-known craft brewers has been bought by Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Goose Island Brewery, based in Chicago, has been bought by the international brewing giant for US$38.8 million.
Goose Island founder John hall will remain as chief executive while the brewery’s two eponymous brewpubs have been excluded from the deal.
Goose Island distributes a number of craft beers in the UK including Honkers Ale and Urban Wheat 312 – widely regarded as Barack Obama’s favourite.
