Campari toasts healthy figures

Gruppo Campari has reported total sales of €1,163 million in the year ended 31 December 2010, representing growth of 15.3% (8.4% organic) on the previous year.

Profit before tax and minority interests reached €232.9m – an increase of 17.5% – while net income reached €156.2m, an increase of 14.0%.

EBITDA reached €295.3m, an increase of 13.1%.

In 2010 the group paid out €149.6m on acquisitions, including the purchase of the Frangelico, Carolans and Irish Mist brands from William Grant & Sons, completed on 1 October 2010 for a total sum of €128.5m.

“Rest of the world” sales, including duty free, which accounted for 7.2% of all sales, rose 31.7% to €83.7m on the previous year.

Sales in the Italian market, which accounts for 34.2% of total group sales, grew 2.4% to €397.3m. Sales in the rest of Europe, accounting for 23.8% of total group sales, rose 19.5% to €276.7m.

The Americas region posted €405.3m in total sales – an increase of 24.6%.

Sales of spirits (75.4% of total sales) grew 18.5% to €876.4m, while sales of wines (15.0% of total sales) rose by 13.0% to €175m.
