UGC present for first time at LIWF
The Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGC), representing some of the most well-known names of Margaux, Pauillac, St Julien, Sauternes, Pomerol and St-Emilion, will be making its first-ever appearance at the London International Wine Fair this May.
Fair organiser Brintex has created a stand-alone area near the main entrance dedicated to a tasting of the 2007 vintage from around 100 different châteaux, at what will be an invitation-only event.
All of the owners and representatives from these estates will be present at the fair to talk to the guests, including those from châteaux Clinet, Smith Haut Lafitte, Canon La Gaffelière, Léoville Barton, Climens and Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.
Sylvie Cazes, president of the UGC, commented: “It is very important for us to maintain contact with our traditional base as well as win new markets for the Bordeaux grands crus.”
Invitations will be sent out by the LIWF with particular attention being paid to sommeliers as well as independent retailers and importers.
