Rogan pops up in London
L’Enclume chef patron Simon Rogan will open a two-year “pop-up” restaurant in London this May.
Rogan has taken over a two year lease at a site on Blandford St, with the name of his new venture yet to be revealed.
Having been awarded the AA’s top accolade of five rosettes last year for his Cumbrian restaurant L’Enclume, one of just seven UK restaurants to achieve this, Rogan’s new venture marks a move to break into the London restaurant scene.
The menu is expected to be similar to that of L’Enclume, which relies very heavily on fresh, locally sourced produce, presented with a modern, imaginative twist.
Twenty five year old Ben Spalding will take on the role of head chef, having spent time working at L’Enclume, as well as L’Autre Pied, Rhodes W1 and Brasserie Lipp in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Having opened L’Enclume in 2003, in 2008 Rogan opened the more casual sister bar and restaurant Rogan & Company, also in Cartmel.
