Harrods in Pinot push

Harrods Wine Shop has selected 37 Pinots from around the world to promote during April.

The collection includes the notoriously tricky but rewarding Pinot Noir variety, as well as its closely related cousins – Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris.

A single Pinot Meunier will be on show; the 2008 vintage from Willamette Valley (Oregon) producer WillaKenzie Estate.

Wines have been sourced from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, America, and even Bulgaria, as well as the Pinot heartlands of Austria and France. Pinot Neros from Italy and Spätburgunders from Germany will also be in the line-up.

Key producers on show include Beaune-based Bochard Père et Fils, Hamilton Russell from Walker Bay in South Africa, Alsace’s Domaine Schlumberger, and New Zealand big guns Ata Rangi, Craggy Range and Man O’ War.

To coincide with the promotion, the Wine Shop is holding a Pinot Evening Tasting on 12 April celebrating Pinots from around the world.

A range of Pinot Noirs will be showcased, along with the lesser-known Pinot varieties: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Meunier.

Over 35 wines will be available to taste, and a 10% discount will be offered on all wines on show.

The Pinot promotion runs from 5 April to 2 May.
