Viva la Revolucion
The company behind Revolution vodka bars is set to launch its latest venture this April with the opening of Revolución de Cuba, a rum-themed bar in the northern city of Sheffield.
Inventive Leisure has steadily built up its Revolution vodka bar empire to 63 bars over recent years, and this latest venture is designed to tap into the increasing popularity of rum and rum-based cocktails among the UK’s younger drinkers.
Following the launch of the Sheffield venue, a further opening will take place in York later this year.
Carl Morris, head of sales and marketing at Inventive, said: “The new brand has a similar business model to Revolution.
“We will be working with established rum brands, including Bacardi, and we have our own range of Revolucióne rum products in development.
“The new brand gives us the opportunity to open Revolución de Cuba bars in markets where we already have a Revolution.
“Rum has become fashionable again, particularly in the student and young professionals market, with cocktails like the mojito, Cuba libre and caipirinha.”
