System promises ultimate water solution
UK firm Eau De Vie promises to resolve the most problematic issues surrounding restaurant water filtering systems, outstripping existing models on the market.
Eau De Vie was founded in 2008 by managing director Nicholas Stanley in response to the “crude” products he encountered during 15 years as manager of a number of UK restaurants, including Cliveden Hotel, The Tate and Corney & Barrow.
Stanley explained: “I determined, as a result of my ‘user experience’ to develop a product that more completely and imaginatively addresses the daily needs of hoteliers, restaurateurs and managers of conference centres.”
Using its own high-specification “SilverSix” filters, Eau De Vie systems are calibrated to provide the right level of carbonation for the taste of each customer. In addition, the company has collaborated with specialist manufacturer Winterhalter to provide a specially-designed bottle wash rack.
In addition to these technical advantages, Stanley highlighted the aesthetic appeal of the product, noting: “For too long presentation of filtered water has been associated with old fashioned ‘lemonade bottles’.
“Eau De Vie offers customers a range of Baccarat-inspired re-usable glass bottles for the restaurant table; compostable paper cups for offices; and for staff, re-fillable aluminium flasks.”
Among the high profile on-trade venues to have adopted the Eau De Vie system so far are The River Café, White’s Club, Hambleton Hall Hotel, Villandry and the Park Plaza Hotel.
