Stratfords adds to its Italian portfolio
Berkshire-based wine suppler Stratford’s Wine Agencies has added two Italian producers – Cantine Calatrasi from Sicily and Puglia, and Sensi from Tuscany – to its portfolio.
Sensi is one of Italy’s largest producers of Chianti, exporting over 70% of its production. Dating back to 1890, renowned oenologist Lorenzo Landi is currently in charge of winemaking at the estate.
In addition to Chianti, Sensi also produces varietal wines in northern Italy and Prosecco in the Veneto, while Calatrasi – named Italian Producer of the Year by the IWSC in 2009, is one of southern Italy’s leading producers.
“This is an exciting development for the breadth of our portfolio – we’re looking forward to working with both producers,” said managing director Paul Stratford.
Wines from Sensi and Calatrasi will be available from Stratford’s in early March, and will be on show at the London International Wine Fair in May.
