Farr Vintners to stump up for Wine Relief

Fine wine merchant Farr Vintners will be donating £20 from every case of wine it sells in March to Wine Relief.

With the help of its customers, the London-based company aims to raise over £100,000 for the charity. Wine Relief was founded by Jancis Robinson MW and her husband Nick Lander in 1999.

Robinson began the venture to rally the wine industry into making a concrete contribution to the successful Red Nose Day campaign, which has raised over £650 million for Comic Relief since its inception 25 years ago.

Since starting up, Wine Relief has raised £3.8m for Comic Relief. The money raised goes towards life-changing projects in the UK and Africa.

In 2009, Berry Bros raised £144,000 for Wine Relief via a Château Latour dinner and auction.

Red Nose Day is on Friday 18 March.
