Theatre of Wine opens in North London
Eclectic independent wine merchant Theatre of Wine has opened a second London branch on Junction Road.
The opening of the new north London venue forms part of the regeneration of the area between Tufnell Park and Archway.
The new outlet, dubbed Theatre of Wine North, will host weekly themed tastings, such as “Nebbiolo and Her Sisters” on 9 February.
The stock is deliberately varied, with 20 different types of Sherry on offer, strong Burgundy, Piedmont and Champagne offerings, and shelf space devoted to more obscure regions, like Morocco, Georgia and Slovenia.
"We want our shops to celebrate classic wines and showcase new talents, highlighting progress in forgotten regions and occasionally criticising laziness and vanity in famous appellations, but always extending wine lovers’ knowledge of place and culture”, Theatre of Wine founder Daniel Illsley said.
“And of course, to offer value for money without compromising quality or typicity”, Illsley added.
The original Theatre of Wine, based in Greenwich, opened in 2002.
