Kiss my face: Partridge back for more
Foster’s has confirmed it is to run a second series of Alan Partridge’s hit online series Mid Morning Matters after first six episodes attracted over two million hits since the series debuted in November last year.
The first six-part series, which was streamed on www.fostersfunny.co.uk, saw the Toblerone-loving North Norfolk Digital DJ drool over the prospect of interviewing Anthea “The Body” Turner, dub actress Billie Piper “the most popular prostitute on ITV” and host a phone-in for listeners on extermination methods for their least favourite animal species.
The second half of the series promises more of Partridge at his misguided best; taking on the role of stand-in agony aunt, outlining the use of “lethal force” to a young child and falling for a vibrant young colleague. Jurassic Park!
The immediate popularity of the new weekly shows, which will premiere exclusively at www.fostersfunny.co.uk from Friday 4 February, underlines the potential of online broadcasting and the show has already become a YouTube “must-see”, while fuelling thousands of Twitter tweets from Partridge fans. Cashback!
Henry Normal, managing director of Baby Cow Productions, said: “It’s a testament to the continuing quality of Alan Partridge that we have reached two million hits in such a short space of time. This is such an exciting project with a great team behind it.”
