Innis & Gunn unveils draught format
Innis & Gunn is launching its Original beer on draught for the first time. The Scottish brewer, renowned for its oak-aged bottled beers, will introduce this format at several venues in and around Edinburgh during the Christmas season, before rolling it out across the UK from January 2011.
Linking the move to a wider resurgence for the cask ale sector, Crawford Sinclair, UK director of sales at Innis & Gunn UK, explained: “Until now Innis & Gunn has only been sold in bottles, however growing demand, particularly in the on-trade, has lead to several requests from bar staff for Innis & Gunn Original to be made available on draught.”
The brewer will be supporting the launch with staff training and a supply of Innis & Gunn branded, lined, half-pint glasses.
Sinclair noted: “We recommend serving the beer in these specially designed glasses to concentrate the vanilla, malt and toffee aromas for which Innis & Gunn is renowned.”
Established just seven years ago, Innis & Gunn has since averaged 60% growth year-on-year to become Scotland’s second largest independent beer company.
