Four join forces in Covent Garden
Chef Peter Gordon and three other restaurateurs are opening a new venue in London’s Covent Garden.
Kopapa is a joint venture between Gordon (pictured), chef-proprietor of the Providores and Tapa Room, his co-owner Michael McGrath, and the founders of Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Adam Wills and Brandon Allen.
The new venue – opening in early December – will be open seven days a week and will serve all meals from breakfast through to supper.
The site will showcase Gordon’s signature fusion style of cooking with global ingredients.
Dishes will include New Zealand lamb chops on smoked sweet potato mash with braised butter beans and pickled garlic tapenade, alongside Turkish poached eggs with whipped yogurt and hot chilli butter.
Douglas Stuart has been commissioned to design the interiors, which will be a blend of Turkish tiles and Autobahn designed bench seats.
Gordon, who has known Wills and Allen for more than 10 years, said he was “thrilled” with the project and “looking forward to this collaboration”.
