Rioja goes toptable for October promotion
Wines from Rioja has entered into a new partnership with booking site toptable.com to promote the region’s wines.
The initiative, which began yesterday and finishes in four weeks, offers a free glass of Rioja to all those who book a table through the website.
Restaurants such as Theo Randall, Tom’s Kitchen and L’Etranger are all participating in the scheme, as are two of London’s top Spanish venues Casa Brindisa and El Pirata de Tapas.
Anna Noble, spokesperson for Wines from Rioja, said: “We’re delighted to be working with toptable in a promotion which we are sure will prove to be popular with the 2.2 million people who use the site each month.
“With 77% of users aged between 25-44 and 51% earning £50,000 or more it is a great opportunity for us to target a younger consumer and drive awareness of Rioja wines among young professionals.”
To ensure the restaurant’s staff are up to scratch on the wines on offer, Wines of Rioja has recruited one of Spain’s leading sommeliers, Bruno Murciano, to visit the participating venues.
Diners will also be given the chance to join a prize draw to win a stay at the new Hotel Viura in Rioja.
