Italian wine celebration to hit London
The Italian wine industry is getting set to jet over to London for Borsa Vini 2010.
The one-day tasting and tutoring event takes place at The Dorchester on Park Lane on Tuesday, 12 October, with trade and press invited to attend between 10am – 5pm.
The event name ‘Borsa Vini’ translates as “market place for wine” and offers a chance to discover a wide range of new wines from 41 different producers, encompassing 11 regions of Italy.
A number of these producers are new to the UK and will be seeking representation.
Winemakers and winery owners will be flying over especially for the tasting and visitors will have the chance to hear the latest news and to learn first-hand about developments in Italy.
A seminar and tutored tasting presented by Attilio Scienza, professor of viticulture at Milan University and Italian wine expert Peter McCombie MW will focus on “The Wines of the Volcanoes”, providing a chance to learn about Italy’s volcanic past and how it has helped to create some of the most diverse landscapes and wines in Europe.
