Hartnett buys Murano from Ramsay
Angela Hartnett has taken over the ownership of Murano from Gordon Ramsay Holdings.
The London Mayfair Italian restaurant opened under Hartnett’s leadership in 2008, winning a Michelin star the following year.
Murano’s head chef Diego Cardoso has already confirmed he will remain in his post, with the rest of the team also being offered the chance to stay.
Hartnett has confirmed that she will continue to support her second venture with Ramsay, York & Albany, until the end of this year.
As the rumours were confirmed yesterday, Hartnett released a statement to say: “After 17 amazing years working with Gordon and all the team at GRH, the time is right to stand on my own two feet and have my own restaurant.
“The opportunity to buy Murano was just too good to be true and I jumped at the offer. I’d like to thank Gordon for all his support over the years. I wouldn’t be where I am without him and this certainly isn’t the end of the road with GRH.”
